This manual contains instructions to help you install and configure the
National Instruments serial hardware and the NI Serial software for
Windows 95. The serial hardware covered by this manual includes the
PCI-232/2, PCI-232/4, PCI-485/2, PCI-485/4, and PCI-232/8. This manual
assumes that you are already familiar with Windows 95.
• Chapter 1, Introduction, explains how to use this manual, lists what
you need to get started and optional equipment you can order, and
briefly describes the serial hardware and the NI Serial software.
• Chapter 2, Installation and
you install the serial hardware, NI Serial software, and cables.
• Chapter 3, Configuration, contains instructions to help you view or
change the communication port settings.
