The A2 F can regulate the inflow temperature dependent on the
weather. The external temperature sensor (RoCon OT1) contained
in the scope of delivery is required for this function. For information
on the installation location and electrical connection, see
4.7.4.
The temperatures detected by the optional internal temperature
sensors (flow and return flow temperature sensors, internal mixer
sensors) are used to control the burner's output and to detect faults.
To regulate a mixer circuit, the (RoCon M1,  ) mixer module is
needed that contains the mixer circuit inflow temperature sensor.
Further electric components can be connected to the circuit board
connectors:
Optionally, the enclosed 4-pin PCB connector can be used
for connection to the following PCB slots:
▪ J3 (AUX terminals)
▪ J8 (terminals 1-4)
▪ J16 (RT terminals)
J13 circuit board connector
Further optional control system components in the CAN bus system
(room controller, mixer module, etc.) are connected to the control
panel (see
Chap. 4.7.5
to
Chap.
nector.
J9 circuit board connector
The optional Flowsensor is connected to circuit board connector J9
(accessory in Smart Start kit).
J8 circuit board connector
Additional switching contacts for external boiler control and temper-
ature sensors can be connected to the J8 circuit board connector.
▪ An external operating mode switchover can be made by a poten-
tial-free switching contact connected to terminals 1+2 (EXT). De-
pending on an interconnected resistance and when the switching
contact is closed, the operating mode is switched over to the as-
signed operating mode - see
Chap. 4.7.9
switchover via EXT input" function in the "RoCon BF controller"
documentation.
▪ An external heat request can be made by a potential-free switch-
ing contact connected to terminals 3+4 (EBA). When the switch-
ing contact is closed the target inflow temperature is set to the
value configured by the parameter [T-Flow Day] on the RoCon BF
controller. The EBA switching contact has priority over a request
from the room thermostat. Switching via the EXT switching contact
has priority over this request.
▪ The optional internal mixer sensor (accessory in Smart Start kit) is
connected to terminals 5+6 (t
▪ The optional storage tank temperature sensor is connected to ter-
minals 9+10 (t
).
DHW
▪ The flue gas temperature sensor on the plugged-in 6-pin plug is
connected to terminals 11+12 (t
J3 circuit board connector
An external control, acquisition or display device (e.g. lamp) can be
connected to the internal switching contact on the J3 circuit board
connector (terminals A+A1,A2). Depending on the model of the
external device, different connection conditions must be observed
(see image 21).
The condition for the switching function can be set by the paramet-
ers [AUX Fct] and [AUX time] on the RoCon BF controller (see the
operating instructions for the controller).

Image 4-12 Connection of switching contact (AUX output)
The relays user for variant 2 (switched output > 15 W) must be suit-
able for a 100 % power-on time.
Connection terminals B+B1 are not occupied for these devices or
are available for additional functions.
J16 circuit board connector
A room thermostat (potential-free switching contact) can be connec-
ted to the J16 (terminals 1+2) on the circuit board connector (see
Chap.
4.7.8). A connected room thermostat has to be activated by
parameter [Room thermostat] on the RoCon BF controller.
In "Heating" operating mode and during the active heating phases of
the time program, a closed switching contact causes a heat request.
This request has priority over the switching functions connected over
the J8 circuit board connector (exception: EBA switching contact).
Frost protection functions are also active when the switching contact
is open.
Terminals 3+4 are not occupied for these devices or available for ad-
ditional functions.
INFORMATION
Further instructions and a detailed description can be
found in the "RoCon BF" controller documentation. It is in-
cluded in the scope of delivery for the A2 F.
4.7.4
Connecting the RoCon OT1 external
temperature sensor
▪ Choose a location at about one third of the building height (min-
imum distance from floor: 2 m) at the coldest side of the building
(North or North-East). Ensure that the location is not near to any
external heat sources (flues, air ducts), nor subject to direct solar
radiation.
▪ Place external temperature sensors in such a way that the cable
exit points face downwards (prevents humidity ingress).
CAUTION
Laying the sensor and mains lines in parallel within a wir-
ing conduit can lead to major malfunctions during con-
trolled operation of the A2 F.
▪ Always lay the sensor line separately.
