4. COLD WEATHER INSTALLATION (OPTIONAL)

Make sure all preparation steps are completed.
Be sure you have the WS38RVK (rear vent kit) to change the top
round outlet to a rear rectangular outlet.
Convert 6" top round to 3-1/4" x 10" rear rectangular.
Replace the 6" round duct with half round section duct.
Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry open the rear outlet cover.
Remove the screws holding the rear outlet panel.
Place rear outlet panel on top of the unit and secure it.
Install the 3-1/4" x 10" rectangular rear vent outlet adaptor.
Secure the adaptor with the screws provided.
Conversion is complete after the adaptor is secured
Feed the wires coming out of the hood through the bottom of the cabinet.
Lift the unit up flesh against the wall and the bottom of the cabinet.
Using the screws and washers provided, insert into each of the 4
keyhole openings (2 on each side) and tightly secure the unit against the
bottom of the cabinet.
Connect 3-1/4" x 10" rectangular ducting to the collar of the hood.
Finish off by sealing the connection point with aluminum tape.
Check with your local building codes to see if a 6" CFM reducer is an
acceptable alternative to make-up air.
Remove the WS(C)-48(46)CFMR (CFM Reducer) and inspect for any
sign of defect or damage. (ie. Cracks, broken flips)
For UNDER CABINET installation: COMPLETE Step A – D of Section
1 UNDER CABINET INSTALLATION THEN GO TO STEP E BELOW.
Place the CFM reducer onto the outlet of the unit and seal the connection
point with aluminum tape. (Be sure it is secure with no openings or gaps)
Connect a 6" ducting to the collar of the CFM reducer.
Finish off by sealing the connection point with aluminum tape.
