The following table gives checks and actions that you can perform if your machine does not
operate correctly. If these do not identify/remedy the problem, contact your service agent at
1-866-523-5218.
Symptom
Pole saw fails to
operate.
Pole saw
operates
intermittently.
Dry chain.
Brake does not stop chain.
Chain/chain bar
over-heats.
Pole saw rips,
vibrates, does not
saw properly.
WARNING: Switch off and remove the battery pack before
investigating fault.
Possible Cause
Out of battery.
Fuse faulty.
Over-heating.
Applying too much pressure
while cutting
Poor connection between the
upper shaft and lower shaft.
Loose connection.
Internal wiring defective.
On/Off switch defective.
No oil in reservoir.
Vent in oil filler cap clogged.
Oil passage clogged.
Run-down kickback brake.
No oil in reservoir.
Vent in oil filler cap clogged.
Oil passage clogged.
Chain is over tensioned.
Dull chain.
Chain tension too loose.
Dull chain.
Chain worn out.
Chain teeth are facing in the
wrong direction.
Remedy
Charge the battery pack.
Replace fuse.
Place the machine in a cool, ventilated
place to cool it down.
Applying relatively less pressure while
cutting.
Reassemble the upper shaft and lower
shaft according to the description in
ASSEMBLY section.
