APPENDIX A. TROUBLESHOOTING
If you experience any problems with the module, check the following
items before contacting Enterasys Technical Support:
•
Ensure that the switch with the module is powered up.
•
Ensure that the device attached to the module is powered up and
operating correctly.
•
Ensure that the module is properly seated in the slot.
•
Verify that the module port is configured to match the communication
speed (10, 100, or 1000 Mbps) and mode (full or half duplex) used by
the attached device.
•
Make sure that network cables comply with the IEEE 802.3ab Gigabit
Ethernet standard for 1000 Mbps operation. Also, be sure cable
lengths are 100 m (328 ft) maximum.
•
Inspect all network cables and connections. Check the connectors on
both ends of a cable to be sure they are properly engaged.
