Measuring pipe

In order for the pipes to be laid correctly, the following points must be observed:
• Keep the measuring pipe as short as possible and avoid sharp bends.
• Lay the measuring pipe in such a way that no deposits can accumulate in it. Gradients should not be less than approx. 8 %
(ascending or descending).
• The measuring pipe should be blown through with compressed air or, better yet, flushed through with the measuring medium
before connection.
• Completely depressurize the measuring pipe if the medium is a fluid.
• Lay the measuring pipe in such a way that gas bubbles (when measuring fluids) or condensate (when measuring gases) can
flow back into the process line.
• When measuring steam, lay the measuring pipe in such a way that hot steam cannot flow back into the process connection
(water trap, e.g., a water trap pipe that is filled with water before installation).
• Check the tightness of the connection.
additional mounting information about PxF100
Installation instructions for G1 universal connection
Transmitter can be installed using a universal connection G1 with its adapter, as in above picture.
Installation instructions for F&B applications
The PAF/PGF100 transmitter for F&B applications must be installed where is granted the self-draining and the drainability of both
process and cleaning fluids, without stagnation areas.
For F&B applications if the instrument was joined to a tee connection, both should be installed on a horizontal plane. Moreover, the
tee connection should be of the short outlet type with its length less than the internal diameter; (see picture below).
For applications with tank the dead outlet must have the length smaller than its internal diameter and the transmitter must be put
where the dead area around the diaphragm seal can be directly hit from the washing jet.
Cleaning instructions for F&B applications
When installing a PAF/PGF100 transmitter for EHEDG applications, respect the EHEDG Positon Paper "Easy cleanable Pipe
couplings and Process connections".
The PAF/PGF100 transmitter has been realized with specific process connections able to be cleaned in place (CIP). To be easy
cleanable, the circuit of the plant must guarantee a minimum flow velocity of 1.5m/s. It should be attained a turbulent flow.
In case of manual cleaning, be careful during the disassembly to avoid impacts on the diaphragm seal. Do not use abrasive
substances to clean it.
