OPERATION

3.3 Tractor Horsepower

The power required to operate a mower is determined by the tractor PTO horsepower. For most mowing

conditions, the FX-107 cutter requires a tractor with at least 60 HP(45 kw). Operating the mower with a tractor

that does not have adequate power may damage the tractor engine.

The tractor 3-point hitch must be rated to lift at least

2075 lbs(941 kg). if attaching a lift type cutter

FX-107 lift type cutters can attach to tractor's with

CAT II or CAT III hitch. Refer to the tractor

operator's manual for the category of the tractor

used. If the hitch does not conform to ASABE Cat I

or Cat II dimensions, the mower may not fit or raise

properly. Consult an authorized dealer for possible

modification procedures to mount nonconforming

hitches.

Use the correct hitch pins for the hitch category

being used. For a Cat II hitches require 1-1/8" lower

and 1" upper. Cat III hitches require 1-7/16" lower

and 1-1/4" upper diameter hitch pins.

For equipment operating at 540 RPM, the tractor

drawbar must be positioned at a 14" distance from

the hitch point to the PTO shaft end for proper

operation and minimal wear to the driveline.
