IV. Maintenance
Before carrying out any maintenance or repair work: Disconnect the plug from the mains supply
and turn off the water feed!

1. Maintenance

Check oil level in oil reservoir (19) every week of after approx. 40 operating hours. The oil reservoir
is transparent and has "max" and "min" marks. If necessary, top up with Kärcher special oil: SAE 90
special oil, Part.-No. 6.288-016 (1 litre). If oil has a milky white appearance, change it immediataly.
2. Oil change
The oil must be changed once yearly or after aprox. 400 operating hours. To do this, drain off old
oil at oil drain screw (20) underneath the pump housing. Fill up with fresh Kärcher special oil: SAE 90
special oil, Part.-No. 6.288-016 (1 litre).
3. Repairs
The relief valve (9) is set at the factory and must not be altered. The electrical components and the
relief valve may only be checked by a specialist.
4. Frost protection
The 1000 SEi EEx must be stored in a place sheltered from frost. Temperatures below 0 °C can
damage the machine.
5. High-pressure hoses
You should pay special attention to the hoses. It is important that only approved, original Kärcher
high-pressure hoses be used (Order-No. 6.388-061).
