Cleaning and disinfecting

The mask must be cleaned and disinfected each time it is
used.
WARNING
!
The mask body must be cleaned sufficiently
thoroughly that no residues from skin care products
remain on it. Otherwise the elasticity in the sealing
area can be lost and the mask will no longer sit
correctly.
If this warning is not heeded, poisoning or death can
result.
CAUTION
!
Do not use any solvents (e.g. acetone, alcohol) or
cleaning agents containing abrasive particles for
cleaning and disinfecting. Only use the prescribed
process and use the cleaning and disinfection agents
given. Other agents, dosages and contact times may
damage the product.
The undiluted agents are damaging to health if they
come into direct contact with the eyes or skin. For this
reason, wear safety goggles and protective gloves
when working with these agents.
Clean and disinfect the full face mask as follows:
Before cleaning, remove accessories and drinking valve
mouthpiece from the mask and clean them separately.
If a Dräger MS-COM was fitted, attach the protective cap
onto the Dräger MS-COM adapter to avoid injury.
If the mask has a drinking valve, the valve must be cleaned
as described in "Clean and disinfect" drinking valve".

Cleaning and Disinfecting the Drinking Valve
Prepare the cleaning solution (completely dissolve 1
cleaning tablet in 1 litre of drinking water) and fill it into the
drinking reservoir.
Replace the mouthpiece with the drain hose.
Connect the drinking reservoir to the outside of the drinking
valve with a hose.
Squeeze the cleaning solution from the reservoir through
the drinking valve until a small amount of the solution
emerges from the drain hose.
Close off the drain hose with a hose clip.
Allow the cleaning solution to act for 3 minutes.
Open the hose clip and squeeze roughly half of the
cleaning solution out of the reservoir and through the
drinking valve.
Close the tube clip again and let the cleaning solution act
for a further 3 minutes.
Open the hose clip and squeeze the remaining cleaning
solution through the drinking valve.
Fill the drinking reservoir with clear drinking water.
Squeeze the water out of the reservoir and through the
drinking valve.
Disconnect the drinking reservoir from the hose.
Using a compressed air gun, blow oil-free compressed air
into the hose until the drinking valve is dry.
