Safety advice General recommendations for paragliding The ZIP Light front container is only to be used for paragliding. Paragliding requires suitable training and an adequate knowledge of the equipment, as well as the necessary insurance and licence. A pilot It is important that the ends of the ZIP Light front container must be able to correctly assess the current weather conditions before Y-connections are hung in the harness carabiners before the paraglider embarking on a flight.

Checking the reserve volume The ZIP Light front container is available in three sizes S, M and L. Size S holds a reserve of between 2.0 to 2.7 litres, size M from 2.5 to 3.5 li- tres and size L from 3.5 to 5.5 litres. The volume of your reserve will ei- ther be on a small label on the reserve (e.g.
Fitting the reserve handle Inner container Fasten the reserve handle – supplied with the ZIP Light front container – to the centre loop on your reserve inner container. It is important that the reserve handle acts on the middle of the inner container. If your in- ner container does not have a central loop it cannot be used with the ZIP Light front container.

Packing the inner container in the ZIP Light front container First open the zip on the back of the ZIP Light front container. Put the Y-connection in the ZIP Light front container so that an arm of the Y-connection emerges left and right from the front container. Then put the inner container on top with the reserve handle facing towards you.
Closing the ZIP Light front container Lead the two yellow reserve handle cables though their closure loops and into their “button holes”. The handle will then lie close to the front container, be visible and easy to reach. Always make sure that the yellow cables run cleanly in position, to en- sure correct release.
Fitting to a different harness Connect the lines from the ends of the Y-connection to the loops on the front container as described below. These loops take the weight of the reserve when it is hung in the harness carabiners. Connect the grey lines from the right and left reserve connections with their respective loops on the sides of the ZIP Light front container.
Hanging the reserve on the harness Before every flight the ZIP Light front container must be hung in the harness carabiners by the ends of the red Y-connection. The carabiner gates must face aft to ensure that the reserve connection loops do not touch them: this may mean reversing the carabiner fitting direction.
