Chapter 2 Preparations

1.12.1 Installing a 3.5-inch HDD cage and hard disk drives

Install a 3.5-inch HDD cage in the server by using the following procedure.
1. See Chapter 2 (1.3 Overview of Installation and Removal) for preparations.
2. To remove the side cover and the front bezel, see Chapter 2 (1.4 Removing the Side Cover and 1.5
Removing the Front Bezel).
3. Insert the HDD cage into the HDD bay.
4. Push the HDD cage so that its tabs A and B
come fit into the slits on the chassis.
5. Insert one side of the lock plate into the slits
of the chassis. Push the lock plate in the
direction shown by the arrow to lock the HDD
cage.

Important
Make sure to insert the lock plate into the groove of the chassis correctly. Incorrect
installation causes the removal of the side cover to be impossible.
