Connecting the LAN cable

The following explains how to connect the LAN cable (sold separately).
This product is set to obtain an IP address from DHCP.
Before connecting this product to the network, change the IP address as necessary.
For details about how to change the IP address, refer to "ServerView User's Guide" in
"Document & Tool CD" provided with the server.
1 Connect the LAN cable to the LAN connector (2) of this product.
2 Connect the other connector of the LAN cable to a hub or router.
Supporting external power supply
The external power supply provided with this product can be used only in Japan.
This is because the cable provided with the external power supply is a 100VAC cable which can only
be used in Japan.
Do not connect it to this product because it is not supported outside of Japan.
To support the external power supply, please purchase a power supply with the following
specifications.

• When this product is connected, the display brightness may be reduced. In this case, adjust the dis-
play for greater brightness.
• The recommended screen refresh rate for the display is 70Hz. In case of poor resolution of the dis-
play, set the screen refresh rate to 70Hz.
• When this product is installed, an error in the keyboard connected to the server may not be
detected by POST. If the keyboard does not work well, restart the server after disconnecting the
USB cable that connects this product and the server, and then check if the keyboard error is dis-
played by POST(Power On Self Test).
• When executing "Power Server OFF" using the [Manage] tab of the [web Interface], this server
runs as follows.
- When the ServerView Agent is running on the target server:
The OS is shut down by ServerView agent, and the server turns off.
