DESCRIPTION OF OPERATION

D4 System:
Purpose: The ZD4 Depowdering Station assists in the removal of powder from parts created
with Z Corporation 3D Printers.
Depowdering Station allows you to blow loose powder off your parts with compressed air,
and it also allows you to remove loose powder from the printer or the parts themselves with
the vacuum.
Controls: The power is turned on by the switch on the right side of the machine. (NOTE:
Turning the power on should turn on the vacuum and the compressor inside the cabinet, and
the light over the work area. If any of these do not go on, check to see that their respective
power switches have been turned on.)

There are only two adjustments that you should make when using the ZD4. The first is the
vacuum, which can be adjusted via the control knob located just below the main power switch
for the ZD4. You can adjust the vacuum from very light suction (0) to full power (100).
The second adjustment is the pressure of the air gun. The air gun is mounted on a hose off
the left side of the machine. The gun is operated by depressing the small, round button on
the top of the gun. The pressure of the gun is adjusted using the regulator cap, which can be
found on the right side of the work area, next to the pressure gauge.

  • Page 2 ® D4 Operations Manual ORPORATION The regulator is operated by pulling the cap up until it clicks, then turning it clockwise for increased pressure, and counter-clockwise for decreased pressure. The pressure can be read off the gauge behind the regulator. Pushing the cap back down again, locks it.
  • Page 3 Main Power Circuit Breaker: This system uses a 15 Amp circuit breaker. If this breaker should ever switch, it may indicate a serious problem with your ZD4 System. Please contact Z Corporation customer service. (If the breaker has switched, the small switch button will show white).
  • Page 4 Main Power Circuit Breaker: This system uses an 8 Amp circuit breaker. If this breaker should ever switch, it may indicate a serious problem with your ZD4 System. Please contact Z Corporation customer service. (If the breaker has switched, the small switch button will show white).
