Assembling the satellite motor and pulleys
Be careful to attach the machine to the cradle (1). Clean all parts well with a solvent.
Use grease as lubricator and threadlock (medium). Use silicone sealing compound to
protect internal parts from dust and water.
MOUNTING THE SATELLITE
MOTOR
1. Check that the machine is properly
clamped to the cradle on both sides.
• Tilt the cradle 180° (the opening
downwards) and secure it with a
corner pin.
2. Add threadlock compound to the four
motor bolt holes.
3. Add a bead of silicone seal compound
around the motor mounting plate.
4. Lift the motor in position and lower the
shaft through the centre shaft hole.
• Terminal box must face away from flat
face on motor mounting plate.
The motor is heavy – take prop-
er precautions!
5. Align the motor bolt holes and fasten
the four motor bolts.
6. Fit on an adhesive rubber strip around
the motor plate (or repair the original
strip).
7. Tilt the cradle 180° (the opening up-
wards) and secure it with a corner pin.
• Locate and mark the direction of the
shaft key.
8. Locate the direction of the centre drive
keyway and align it with the shaft key.
• Fit the centre drive pulley on the mo-
tor shaft.
9. Use a soft mallet to knock down the
centre drive pulley on the motor shaft.
10. Fit in the motor shaft bolt.
• Tighten the bolt using an 8mm exten-
ded Allen key.
CHECK ALIGNMENT OF THE
MOTOR SHAFT/DRIVE PULLEY
Fix the motor (see page 24, picture 5). This
prevents motor from turning while checking
alignment.
11. Use the following setup:
(a) A magnetic foot fixing the dial indic-
ator to the machine.
(b) The shaft drive bearing.
(c) Fix the reading point next to the
shaft drive bearing.
12. Rotate the shaft (b) one turn to find the
smallest reading. Calibrate the dial indic-
ator at this point and rotate another
turn.
• The maximum measured tolerance
should not exceed 0.05mm.
