10.2.6 Clean the fan and gear unit
•
The instructions in item 5.8.1 must be observed!
•
Demount the airguide cover.
•
Using a stiff brush, remove any dirt adhering to the fan wheel, airguide cover and safety grid.
•
Remove any corrosion.
•
Screw safety grid with fastening screws back onto the airguide cover.
DANGER
Risk of explosion
Ignition of a potentially explosive atmosphere through overheating the gear unit or sparks in case of
contact to fan and airguide cover.
It must be ensured that the airguide cover is correctly fastened. The fan must not come into contact with
the airguide cover.
To prevent the buildup of dust on the gear unit, cleaning must be done in accordance with the local
operating conditions.
Cleaning the gear unit with highpressure cleaning equipment is not permitted, because the gear unit
may be damaged through entry of moisture.
10.2.7 Recharge grease to splines on output shaft / spacer
The lubricating interval of 6 months or 5000 operating hours relates to a temperature of 50 °C. The
temperature on the housing surface close to the bearing point is measured.
Note
In case of temperatures above 50 °C the lubricating interval must be reduced to the half of the original
value for each 15 K increase in temperature.
NOTICE
Material damage
Risk of damage to the output shaft / spacer resulting from mixed greases.
When recharging with grease, do not mix greases of different soap bases!
Note
Charge 10 g grease in each lubricating point, if no other values are specified close to the lubricating point.
10.2.8 Repack grease in the Taconite seals
•
Inject approx. 30 g lithiumbased rollingbearing grease into each of the lubricating points of the
Taconite seal. The lubricating points are fitted with a flat grease nipple type AM10x1 to standard
"DIN 3404".
Note
For the exact position and identification of the grease nipples, refer to the drawings in the gearunit
documentation.
CAUTION
Danger of slipping
Risk of slipping on spilled grease.
Remove and dispose of any old grease escaping.
