PLEASE NOTE!
The protection of the measuring cell against over
pressure is only needed for special applications.
Therefore the devices are only in particular cases
equipped with a protection against over pressure.
For all applications for the analysis of liquefied
petroleum gas (LPG) you must use only devices
with a protection against over pressure!
Function of the protection against over

In particular for the manual operating the
measuring cell is in particular cases (see above)
equipped with a protection against over pressure.
The protection will be activated under the following

conditions:
 The measurement piston is completely reversed.
 The measuring cell is filled with product.
 The valves to the measuring cell are closed.

 The measuring cell is heated.

The product builds a high pressure in the
measuring cell. The pressure in the

measuring cell is transmitted by the
actuator of the measurement piston to a
shear pin. The shear pin breaks and the
measuring cell is released by reversing of

the measurement piston.
After triggering of the protection:
 Switch off the device (see page 112).
 Troubleshooting. Replace the shear pin (see
page 158).
