To remove/replace the auger:
1.
Remove the belt by following the procedures
described in the Belt section of this chapter.
2.
Remove the auger pulley hub. See Figure 3.14.
3.
Remove the screw and washer that attach the right
auger bearing to the auger shaft. See Figure 3.15.
4.
Remove the five screws (indicated by the arrows in
Figure 3.15.) that hold the right side panel to the
auger housing using a 3/8" wrench.
5.
Slide the right side panel and auger bearing off of the
auger shaft.
NOTE: It is not necessary to remove the bearings to
remove the auger.
6.
Slide the auger out of the left auger bearing.
NOTE: There are two spacers (indicated by the arrows in
Figure 3.16.) on the auger shaft. The short one
goes on the pulley side.
7.
Install the auger by following the previous steps in
reverse order.
8.
Test run the snow thrower in a safe area before
returning it to service.
