On-Board SCSI-A
Selecting Enabled (the default) enables the built-in
Adaptec 7880 Ultra/Wide PCI SCSI controller. Selecting
the Disabled option disables this controller.
On-Board SCSI-B
Selecting Enabled (the default) enables the built-in
Adaptec 7860 Ultra/Narrow PCI SCSI controller. Select-
ing the Disabled option disables this controller.
PCI Scan Sequence
This category determines the order in which PCI devices
are scanned by the system, and it allows you to select one
of the built-in SCSI host adapters or an optional PCI
expansion-card SCSI host adapter as the start-up device.
The options are:
•
Embedded Devices First
•
Slot Devices First (the default)
If you select Embedded Devices First, you must also set
On-Board SCSI-A or On-Board SCSI-B to Enabled to
enable booting from a drive attached to the associated
built-in SCSI controller.
If you select Slot Devices First and more than one SCSI
host adapter card is installed, the start-up order is deter-
mined by the particular expansion slot in which the card
is installed. In descending order of precedence, the start-
up order for PowerEdge 4200 systems is PCI5, PCI4,
PCI8, PCI7, PCI6.
Use MP Specification
This category determines the microprocessor specifica-
tion revision level. Some operating systems require
revision 1.1. The options are:
•
1.4 (the default)
•
1.1
PS/2 Mouse
Setting PS/2 Mouse to Enabled (the default) allows an
installed PS/2-compatible mouse to function. Disabling
PS/2 Mouse frees IRQ12, but also prevents any installed
PS/2-compatible mouse from functioning.
