Turn on the computer.

The operating system recognizes the media base.

While the Computer is Running

Hold the computer at a 45-degree angle, and slide the front of the

computer toward the two hooks on the front of the media base.
Lower the back of the computer, and press the back of the computer

into the media base until you hear a click.

Undocking Your Computer

Save and close any open files, and exit any open programs.

NOTICE: You cannot undock your computer while your computer is in
standby mode or hibernate mode.
Ensure that your computer does not enter standby mode or hibernate

mode when you close (lower) the display:

XP
Click the Start button and click Control Panel.
