4. Cutting thick branches

When cutting off larger branches, you should first cut into the branch from
below. First cut into the branch from below outside the place where you
intend to cut off the branch. The cut should go from one third to halfway
through the branch. This prevents the branch from buckling when you cut
into the branch from the top outside the first cut. Finally, cut off the stump
with one clean cut.

Maintenance

Before cleaning and maintaining the chain saw, disconnect the plug from
power mains. Do not pull the cord to unplug from the wall socket but grasp
the plug itself to unplug.
Always follow the instructions for lubricating, chain tensioning and
changing accessories. An improperly tensioned or lubricated chain may
either break or increase the risk of kickback.
Replace dull saw chains and have the chains sharpened professionally.

Cleaning and Storing

Do not wipe the housing of the machine with sharp detergents or
aggressive chemicals in order not to damage the surfaces.
Always switch off the chain saw when transporting or carrying the
machine. Place the chain guard over the sword.
Store the chain saw indoors in a dry and dust-free place. Protect the
machine from dust and extreme temperatures.
