The sealing consists of a rotary shaft seal running on
the bushing which is glued on the auger hub. In addi-
tion a slide ring pretensioned by O-rings is mounted on
the auger hub. This slide ring serves as additional pro-
tection for the rotary shaft seal. It is turning with the
auger and is sliding on the wear plate which is bolted
to the housing.
When dismounting the auger, the O-rings and the slide
ring remain on the auger hub and can be pulled out of
the machine together with the auger.
When reinstalling the auger, make sure that the com-
plete auger hub (especially the glued bushing) and the
slide ring are free of dirt in order not to damage the ro-
tary shaft seal.
The surface of the slide ring which is in contact with
the wear plate during operation and also the bushing
must be greased before installation, the other surfaces
of the sealing must be free of grease
