Appendix A. FULL PERFORMANCE TESTS (V2.71)
The following kinds and quantities of test equipment are used for the REL300 Acceptance
Tests:
• Voltmeter (1)
• Ammeter (1)
• Phase Angle Meter (1)
• Load Bank (2)
• Variac (3)
• Phase Shifter (1)
• Optional Doble or Multi-Amp Test System
NOTE:
Before turning on the dc power supply, check jumper positions on the Interconnect
and Microprocessor modules as shown in Table 4-4. Also, refer to this table for relay
system operation. Use Section 4.1(Installation, Operation and Maintenance), as the
guidelines when separating the inner and outer chassis.
Jumper #3 on the Microprocessor module is for the selection of phase
sequence rotation ABC or ACB. Remove Jumper 3 for system ABC ro-
tation for the following test. Refer to Section 1.8 (Power System Rotation
ABC or ACB Selection, page 1-7), for ACB system.
Refer to the NOTE under Table A-1 for 1 amp ct application.
1.1
FULL PERFORMANCE TESTS
Full performance tests explore REL300 responses and characteristics for engineering evalua-
tion. They are in two parts: Non-Pilot and Pilot Acceptance Tests.
NOTE:
(a) Users who are familiar with the REL300 performance and characteristics should
disregard this section and proceed directly to Section 2 (Maintenance Tests).
(b) Four reverse distance settings – Z1GR, Z1GR, Z3GR and PLGR were added to
V2.70 from V2.20 and changed the forward direction settings from Z1G, Z2G, Z3G,
PLTG to Z1GF, Z2GF, Z3GF & PLGR, respectively.
