Furthermore, for safety and warranty reasons, interventions may only be undertaken by specialist per- sonnel authorised by Condair. It is assumed that all persons entrusted to work on the Condair MD are familiar with and abide by the regulations on occupational health and safety and accident prevention.
  • Page 8 4.5 Warning! System contamination hazard If the Condair MD is switched off, there is a risk of the fresh water supply line and the internal water system becoming contaminated, as the water system is then no longer being flushed regularly. For this reason: After commissioning of the Condair MD must no longer be switched off and must either be operated in "Humidify"...

  • Page 19: Functional Description

3.10 Functional description The Condair MD is based on the principle of the steam pressure difference between the dry air in the duct and the water in the humidifier. In this process pure steam diffuses through a semi-permeable diaphragm of the humidifier unit and humidifies the duct air.
  • Page 20 (see chapter 5.1.2 for information on how to activate standby mode). Note: if the Condair MD has to be switched off for a prolonged period of time, please note the informa- tion in chapter 4.5.
  • Page 21: Operation

Operation The Condair MD must only be operated by persons that are familiar with operating the Condair MD and who have read these operating instructions. Initial commissioning Initial commissioning must always be carried out by a service engineer deployed by your Condair repre- sentative or a trained customer service engineer who has been qualified for this work.
  • Page 22: Display And Operating Elements

DANGER! Risk of electrocution! A voltage continues to apply within the Condair MD hydraulic unit after having switched off the system at the device switch. For this reason, it is paramount to disconnect the mains supply to the hy- draulic unit by removing the mains plug prior to opening the hydraulic unit.

Should it become necessary to change the setpoint following instructions by the Condair representative, you can change the setpoint using the arrow buttons on the right-hand edge of the display.
  • Page 24: Commissioning After Having Stopped Operation

Maintaining hygiene If the Condair MD has been switched off for over 48 hours or if you are not sure about how long the Condair MD was switched off, the fresh water supply line must be thoroughly flushed using the drain valve for hygiene reasons prior to recommissioning.
  • Page 25: Notes On Operation

If you have established irregularities (e.g. leaks, displayed malfunction) or damaged components, shut down the Condair MD as described in chapter 4.5. If a malfunction is displayed, note the malfunction code prior to switching off the hydraulic unit. For more information, subsequently contact your Condair representative.
  • Page 26: Operating Modes

If the ERV must be shut down for more than 48 hours for service and repair work, the Condair MD must be set to "Standby" operating mode (Menu > User Settings > Operation > Operating Mode > "Standby") until restarting the ERV.
  • Page 27: 4.4.2.2 "Standby" Operating Mode

If the Condair MD is set to "Standby" operating mode, the drain valve at the bottom of the water tank in the hydraulic unit opens after 3 hours and the internal water system of the Condair MD is drained.
  • Page 28: Decommissioning

If it is intended to switch off the Condair MD for a prolonged period of time it is necessary to block the fresh water supply line using the drain valve in the fresh water supply line (see system overviews in chapter 3.5).
