Traction sheave replacement
Disassembly:
Disconnect the power from the installation and secure the car and
•
counterweight
Remove traction sheave cover or rope fixing beam
•
Ease load on traction sheave; lay down cables
•
Secure traction sheave with lifting gear
•
Measure and note dimension of pretensioned brake springs
•
Relieve pressure on tension springs by unscrewing the screws until the
•
traction sheave is free
Unscrew rope fixing beam
•
Unscrew disc on motor shaft and turn round disc
•
(the side of the disc that has been turned free must be visible)
Insert screws in outer hole circle of the disc in the traction sheave hub
•
By tightening the screws diagonally and evenly, remove the traction
•
sheave from the shaft.
If the removal distance is insufficient, place a spacer with a thickness of
between 2 and 6 mm between disc and shaft end.
Installation:
Clean shaft end and traction sheave bore; do not under any
•
circumstances alter dimensions of feather key, groove, shaft or bore.
Do not apply grease or oil to the shaft and bore.
•
Carefully mount new traction sheave with lifting gear on tapered shaft
•
end of the motor shaft.
Align the feather key and groove to one another.
•
Fit traction sheave on motor shaft, taking care with the brake shoes!
•
Screw disc onto motor shaft using inner hole pattern. The end face that
•
has been turned free must be aligned to the traction sheave.
Secure screws with Loctite type 241 against accidental release and
•
tighten diagonally and evenly in a clockwise direction in several steps.
Check the lateral alignment of the brake linings in relation to the brake
•
disc support. In the case of misalignment, disassemble brake shoe and
align linings to brake surface centre by rearranging the spacer washers
on the brake shoe pin. (Washer thickness = 1 mm.)
Set the press-on force of the springs, brake shoe stroke 0.3 mm and
•
brake test switches.
Install traction sheave cover or rope fixing beam.
•
Important: If installed incorrectly, the traction sheave can be released.
Ensure screws are secure and tightening torque is correct!
