Adjust the Steering Control Cable

DANGER
The snowthrower contains an auger and impeller that
throws snow. Fingers or feet can quickly become caught in
the auger or impeller that can result in traumatic amputation
or severe laceration.
• Turn the engine OFF. Wait for all moving parts to stop,
and remove the ignition key or push/pull key before
maintenance or repairs.
The steering control cable can stretch after frequent usage
during the first season of operation. If the cable has stretched,
it can stop the drive gears from disengagement while the
control activates.
1. STOP the engine. Remove the ignition key or push/pull
key.
2. When you release the left and right steering control
triggers, move the unit back and forward until the wheels
engage (not free-wheeling).
3. Lift the adjuster cover (A, Figure 30) up and away from
the adjuster (D).
4. Use a wrench to hold stationary the adjuster tube (B).
Use another wrench to loosen the jam nut (E).
