Park the motorcycle, ensuring
that the support surface is firm

Wipe area around oil fill loca-
tion to clean it.
To be able to apply force more
easily, insert the interchange-
able screwdriver bit 1, Torx end
first, into the screwdriver han-
dle 2 (from motorcycle toolkit).
Locate specified tool from ve-
hicle toolkit on oil fill location 3
and turn counterclockwise.
Checking engine oil level

Both too little and too
much engine oil can lead to
engine damage.
Always make sure that the oil
level is correct.
Add engine oil up to specified
level.

Install the oil filler cover 3.

Checking brake operation
Actuate the handbrake lever.
Pressure point must be clearly
perceptible.
Actuate the footbrake lever.
Pressure point must be clearly
perceptible.
If no clear pressure points are
perceptible:
Incorrect working practices
endanger the reliability of
the brakes.
Have all work on the brake sys-
tem carried out by specialists.
Have the brakes checked at an
authorized workshop, preferably
an authorized BMW Motorrad
retailer.
