Using password protection

The handheld has a password security feature. Once you set the
password for your handheld and the password security screen
turns on, no one can access it unless the password is entered.
When you set your password in the
function, you can also specify the length of time that the handheld
is idle before the password security screen appears. Once the
handheld is left idle for that amount of time, you will need to enter
your password to access the handheld.
You can also manually invoke the password security screen by
/RFN
using the
function. This function will lock the handheld and
no one can access it without entering the password. You should
lock your handheld if you leave it unattended.
If the password is enabled, you will need to enter it when
connecting the handheld to your PC for use with the BlackBerry
Desktop Manager. With the handheld in the cradle, you must type
your password and press the
BlackBerry Desktop Manager tools.
If you do not want the password security screen to appear, you
must disable your password in the
details.
