5. Re-mount and finger-tighten the chain sprocket cover with the chain sprocket cover nut. Note: Only tighten the chain sprocket cover nut securely once the chain tension has been adjusted (see: Tensioning the chain.) Tensioning the Chain 1. Using supplied spanner loosen the chain sprocket cover nut.

SETUP & PREPARATION (cont.) Chain Lubrication WARNING! NEVER START WORK UNLESS THE CHAIN AND BAR ARE LUBRICATED. WARNING! ONLY USE OIL THAT IS EXPRESSLY LABELLED “CHAIN BAR OIL”. 1. Place the pole pruner on a level surface. 2. Clean the area around the oil tank cap and then open it.
5. ATTACHMENT Fitting the Attachment 1. Loosen the attachment lock knob on the engine shaft connecting piece. 2. Pull the lock pin and push the lower shaft carefully into the shaft connecting piece. 3. Ensure that the lock pin latches into the hole in the lower shaft, you may need to turn the lower shaft slightly to enable correct fitting.
SETUP & PREPARATION (cont.) 6. HARNES Fitting the Harness 1. Fit the harness so that the shoulder pads sit on the shoulders and the plate hangs down at the waste. 2. Hook the unit to the harness. 3. In order to establish the optimum length of the harness, you should then make a few swinging movements without starting the engine.
7. FUEL WARNING! PETROL IS VERY FLAMMABLE. DO NOT SMOKE OR CAUSE ANY SPARKS OR FLAMES NEAR FUEL. MAKE SURE THAT YOU STOP THE MOTOR AND ALLOW IT TO COOL BEFORE REFUELLING THE ENGINE. SELECT AN OPEN OUTDOOR AREA FOR FUELLING AND MOVE AT LEAST 3M AWAY FROM THE FUELLING POINT BEFORE STARTING THE ENGINE.
OPERATION 8. STARTING & STOPPING Pre-starup Checks 1. Ensure that there are no leaks in the fuel system. 2. Ensure that the safety devices and cutting attachments are complete. 3. Make sure that the harness is connected and adjusted to the correct height. 4.

6. Set the choke lever to choke off position “ ” (Choke Off/Run). 7. Hold the equipment securely and pull out the starter cable until you feel it begin to resist. Then tug sharply on the starter cable until the engine starts. Note: Never allow the starter line to snap back.
APPLICATIONS 9. LINE TRIMMER/BRUSH CUTTER Extending the Cutting Line To extend the cutting line, run the engine at full speed and tap the line spool on the ground. This will automatically extend the line. The knife edge blade on the safety guard will cut the line to the appropriate length.

Cutting along Fences/Foundations/Trees When cutting approach wire mesh fences, natural stone walls and foundations slowly so that you can cut close to them without striking the obstacle with the line. If, for example, the line strikes stones, stone walls or foundations, it will wear or fray.
APPLICATIONS (cont.) 10. POLE PRUNER Chain Lubrication Level of oil in the oil container: Both before and during your work make sure that there is always sufficient oil in the system. To avoid damaging the bar & chain, never run the pruner if there is no oil in the system or if the oil drops below the “min“...

APPLICATIONS (cont.) Sawing Techniques • When removing branches, hold the pruner at an angle ranging from a maximum 60° to horizontal in order to avoid being struck by a falling branch. max. 60˚ • At the end of the cut, the weight of the pruner suddenly increases for the user, because it is no longer supported on the branch.

Cutting Wood Under Tension Special care is required when cutting wood which is under tension. cutting wood which is under tension can release the tension, causing the wood to react out of control. In the worst case this can result in sever and even fatal injuries. This type of work must be performed only by specially trained persons.
APPLICATIONS (cont.) 11. POLE HEDGE TRIMMER Adjusting the Angle WARNING! BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY ADJUSTMENTS MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS OFF AND IS COOL. DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL STARTING. 1. The cutting blade can be tilted in order to ensure an ergonomic working position.
Page 29
Cutting New Growth The most effective method is to use wide, sweeping movements, 15° guiding the cutting edge of the blade straight through the branches. A slight incline of the blade downwards in the direction of movement will produce the best cutting results.
MAINTENANCE WARNING! BEFORE CLEANING OR CARRYING OUT ANY MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS OFF AND IS COOL. DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL STARTING. Line Replacement 1. Align the hole in Carrier Plate with the hole in the Carrier Plate Cover and insert the 4mm hex key.

30° 30° LEFT HAND MAINTENANCE (cont.) CUTTERS RIGH CUTT Maintaining the Guide Bar WARNING! ALWAYS WEAR GLOVES WHEN HANDLING THE CHAIN AS IT IS VERY SHARP AND CAN CUT YOU WHEN IT IS NOT MOVING. 1. Remove any sawdust from the guide bar, including the groove. Oil and sawdust combine and emit a burning smell during operation if the guide bar is not regularly cleaned.
Automatic Chain Lubrication You should check the operation of the automatic chain lubrication system on a regular basis in order to guard against overheating and the damage this can cause to the guide bar and the chain. Point the tip of the guide bar above some light coloured paper such as newspaper and allow the pruner to run.
MAINTENANCE (cont.) Servicing the Air Filter Soiled air filters reduce the engine output by starving air to the carburettor. Regular checks are therefore essential. The air filter should be checked after every 25 hours of use and cleaned if necessary. If the air contains a lot of dust, the air filter should be checked more frequently.
Cleaning, Storage and Transport WARNING! BEFORE CLEANING OR CARRYING OUT ANY MAINTENANCE PROCEDURE, MAKE SURE THAT THE ENGINE IS OFF AND IS COOL. DISCONNECT THE SPARK PLUG TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL STARTING. Cleaning - • Regularly clean the tensioning mechanism by blowing it out with compressed air or cleaning it with a brush.
