Starting the engine
Check that the parking brake is set.

Check that the shift lever is set in P (continuously variable transmis-

sion) or N (manual transmission).
Firmly depress the brake pedal (continuously variable transmis-

sion) or clutch pedal (manual transmission).
Turn the engine switch to the "START" position to start the engine.

The steering wheel is locked and
