    POINTS FOR ATTENTION Please consider the following points in order to use this disc player correctly and safely! Power: Please connect the device to the correct power outlet (AC 230 V). Please compare the main voltage on the rear panel. Power Lines: Please DO NOT place heavy objects on the device, as this may result in fire and electric leakage.

    OPERATION Display Indicates the inserted disc type. Indicates that the repeat play function is activated. Indicates PBC ON (VCD). Indicates the multi visual angles status. Indicates zoom status. Indicates that the program function is activated. Shuffle-Play function. Indicates the playing Audio mode. Indicates status of the front right and front left speakers output.
  • Page 10 OPERATION Remote Control If the remote control only operates when you get closer to the device, it means that the batteries have been used up. Please replace the two batteries simultaneously with two new batteries (Size AAA, R03, 1.5V). Please note the +, - polarity.

    ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS Video and Audio Connection - The device has three types of Video output terminals, the S-VIDEO, the CVBS VIDEO output and RGB (over Scart), which can be connected to devices such as television, projector etc. - The Audio output has two types of Audio output terminals, the 2 channel output and the AC-3/DTS digital output (pass through).

    ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS Audio Connection of the DVD-Player over the Optical Output: Please connect the digital optical output with the corresponding input on the amplifier by means of an optical cable. Please note that this connection is only possible if your amplifier contains a DTS/Dolby Digital Decoder. In this case the digital output has to be set to SPDIF RAW.

    TECHNICAL TERMS GLOSSARY DESCRIPTION AC-3 Digital coding of one to six channels (5 plus 1) in a bitstream. Compare Dolby Digital. "Binary Digit”. A bit is the smallest information unit in the EDV as well as in digital transmission systems. Bit is the indication for the height of the resolution in the uncompressed PCM size. Cinch-Audio Over the Cinch sockets, the Dolby-Digital or MPEG sound will be released from the DVD as analogue two-channel signal - independent from the channel number on the DVD.
  • Page 30 TECHNICAL TERMS GLOSSARY DESCRIPTION Picture Sizes For the picture, we indicate the playback size on the TV or projector (e.g. 4:3 and 16:9) as well as the original (movie) size in which the film was shot (e.g. 1.85:1). TV movies are shot in the usual TV size 4:3 (1.33:1), movie productions mostly in different wide-screen sizes.
