Hardware Installation

Note! Before touching any electronic components, make sure you first touch
an unpainted, grounded metal object to discharge any static electricity stored
on your clothing or body.
• Keep the CD you have inserted
in the CD-ROM drive.
• Shut Down your computer and
unplug the power cord.
• Remove the outer cover of
your computer. (Refer to your
computer manual if needed.)
• Locate an available PCI slot.
(PCI slots are usually white or
cream colored.)
• Remove the backplate (the
small piece of metal that covers
the opening for the PCI card on
the back cover that you just
removed).
• Insert the DFE-530TX+
carefully into the PCI slot.
• Secure the DFE-530TX+ with
the screw from the backplate.
• Replace your computer' s cover.
• Plug in the power cord and
turn on your computer.
Opening the case of your computer may compromise
the warranty of your computer. Consult the computer
manufacturer before opening the case to ensure that
you adhere to warranty guidelines. In some cases, you
may need to have the DFE530TX+ installed by your
computer manufacturer.
