The adjustment procedure below is comprehensive, and covers all FX Focus Heads that are used with the AMADA WELD TECH A-Series Nd:YAG Laser Welders. Depending on the focus head set-up, some portions may not be applicable to that specific adjustment and may be skipped. Likewise, if a focus head parameter is known to be adjusted correctly, that portion of the procedure may be skipped as well.
CHAPTER 2: FOCUS HEAD ADJUSTMENTS CCTV Adjustment Points Refer to the illustration below for the adjustments points notated in the CCTV Focus Head Adjustment Procedure. CHAPTER 2: FOCUS HEAD ADJUSTMENTS CCTV Focus Head Adjustment Procedure: 1. Connect Focus Head to Laser. Connect the optical fiber between the A-Series Laser Welder and the CCTV Focus Head. Hand tighten the optical fiber until snug. 2. Connect Camera Output. Connect the video output of the Camera to a video monitor or video capture system.

CHAPTER 2: FOCUS HEAD ADJUSTMENTS 8. (Optional) Rotate the for the clearest / best image, then hand-tighten the Aperture Adjustment . A small aperture number (default aperture f-stop) results in more Aperture Adjust Locking Screw light but less the depth of field (narrow range of focus). Likewise a large aperture number (aperture f-stop) results in less light but more depth of field (large range of focus).

CHAPTER 2: FOCUS HEAD ADJUSTMENTS Loosen the nut that secures the Fiber Optic Coupler to the Collimator Tube using a 15/16” (24 mm) or adjustable wrench. Adjust the position of the Fiber Optic Coupler by turning the Fiber Optic into (CW) or out of (CCW) the Collimator tube until the Laser Focus is coincident with the Coupler Visual Focus.

CHAPTER 2: FOCUS HEAD ADJUSTMENTS If the focus head does not include a Watec camera, the will need Video Lens Locking Ring adjustment. Before adjusting the Axis Orientation, it is important to know how the Video Lens functions. For the purposes of this step, we will call the Video Lens Assembly the Locking Ring section of the focus head that includes;...

The nominal Working Distance is measured from the bottom of the cover glass holder to the work piece. This data value has a tolerance of ± 10% and should be used as a typical value, rather than absolute value. The actual working distance occurs where the energy density of the impinging beam is the greatest (i.e.
