4. Consult your nearest dealer when damage,
disconnection or contact failure is found with
the cord.
5. Do not bend sharply, pull or twist the cord.
6. Do not alter the power cord in any manner.
7. Do not remove the screws to disassemble the
unit and do not touch the interior portion of
the unit to avoid dangerous mishaps.
8. Do not insert any metallic objects inside the
unit.
9. Unplug the cord as early as possible if it is
lightening.
10. When using the unit outdoors, if it is lighten-
ing retract the telescopic antenna and dis-
continue the usage.
BINAURAL & BIPHONIC
B I N A U R A L RECORDING
Binaural recording means a recording technique in
which sound is recorded in exactly the same way
as human ears pick up sound, i.e. through micro-
phones (such as JVC HM-200E headphone-micro-
phones) installed in the ears of an artificial head
which acoustically simulates the human head.
Binaural recording contributes
enhanced feeling of presence.
B I N A U R A L PLAYBACK
Playback of binaural recordings through head-
phones is called "binaural playback". This suggests
that binaural recordings can only be reproduced
through headphones.
BIPHONIC PLAYBACK
We call it "Biphonic playback" that we play back
the binaural recordings through speakers by using
the Biphonic processor which we JVC newly
developed. As well as Biphonic playback of
binaural recordings, this unit provides a stereo
expansion effect with ordinary stereo recordings.
We call this "expanded stereo playback".
The diagram illustrates the differences and advan-
tages of the binaural and Biphonic playback
systems compared with ordinary stereo.

La grabacion Binaural significa una tecnica de grabacion en
la cual el sonido es grabado exactamente en la forma en que
los oi'dos humanos
microfonos (como
HM-200E) instalados en los oi'dos de una cabeza artificial,
la cual Simula acusticamente la cabeza humana. La graba-
greatly to an cion Bianural contribuye grandemente a un mayor senti-
miento de presencia.
REPRODUCCION B I N A U R A L
La reproduccion de grabaciones binaurales a traves de los
audi'fonos es llamada "reproduccion binaural". Esto sugiere
que las grabaciones binaurales pueden ser reproducidas
solamente a traves de aud ffonos.
REPRODUCCION BIPHONIC
Se llama reproduccion de grabaciones binaurales a las
realizadas a traves de parlantes usando el procesador
Biphonic que recientemente JVC derarrollara, "reproduc-
cion Biphonic". Asimismo la reproduccion Biphonic de
grabaciones binaurales, esta unidad provee un efecto de
expansion estereo
Nosotros llamamos a esto "reproduccion estereo expandida".
