Main burner use
When searing foods, preheating is recom-
mended by operating all main burners in the hi
position with the lid closed for approximately
10 minutes.
Cooking with the lid closed will ensure a more
even temperature that will reduce cooking time
and cook more evenly.
Food that has a cooking time longer than 30
minutes, such as roasts, may be cooked in-
directly (with the burner lit opposite the food
placement).
Use and cleaning of fry top
Preheat the fry top with burner in the high posi-
tion for approximately 10 to 15 minutes. After
that, turn the knob back to medium. The fry top
is a multifunctional griddle on which an enor-
mous range of dishes can be prepared. Evenly
spread a little oil on the griddle (never use but-
ter on the fry top) after which you can put the
food directly onto the griddle. Frying will be
slower on the fry top, yet the dish will not start
to simmer. Because the food is seared quickly,
it loses less moisture.

Maintenance

Burner inspection: please inspect these burn-
ers once a year.
Periodically inspect the burners for blockage or
corrosion. These burners can be cleaned using
a small piece of wire and a wire brush. Be care-

When cooking very lean meats, such as chicken
breasts or lean pork, the grids can be oiled be-
fore cooking to prevent sticking.
Cooking meat with a high degree of fat content
may create flare-ups. Either trim some fat or
reduce temperatures to prevent this. Should
a flare up occur, move the food away from the
flames, reduce heat and leave the lid open.
When the food is ready, remove it from the
fry top and pour a little water onto the fry top
before leaving to enjoy your food. The water
will soak any food residues, which you can then
scrape off with a spatula. It will make clean–
up much easier. Beware of steam that will rise
from the fry top – it is hot! When the fry top
has cooled down almost completely, spray on
some oven cleaner and scrub with the steel
wool pad included.
Finally, use a moist cloth. If necessary, use
a soft scrubbing pad for the small nooks and
crannies.
ful not to damage the ceramic spark electrode.
Have the burner replaced if there are any signs
of deterioration.
