2.2 Checks on the gate

• Before carrying out the installation, check completely the
leaves, which must be in good condition and not show
breakages or damages.
• Check that the movement of leaves is smooth and that the
hinges are free from any slack or friction.
• Check that the leaves are perpendicular (Fig.4) and perfectly
stable at any point of the rotation.
• Check that the leaves, fully closed, match evenly along the
whole height.
• Check with a dynamometer that the opening and closing force
of the leaves, measured at the leaf tip, is not greater than 15 kg.
(147 N) - Ref. EN 12604 - EN 12605.
• If necessary, repair/replace the hinges so that the leaves can
be easily moved by hand.
• Check that leaf support pillars are suitable and carry out the
strengthening operations required.
• Check whether the front connection positioning area on the
gate needs to be reinforced. If necessary, weld a suitable
support (large section bar) so as to distribute the load on a wide
area (Fig.5).
• Carry out a correct risk analysis for the system and the
machine (gate with automation) according to Machinery
Directive 2006/42 EC.

2.3 Positioning of connections

• Select the most suitable point on the leaf to position the front
operator connection in height. Position yourself as much as
possible at half the height of the leaf, in the most robust area
and less subjected to bending.
note: avoid installation near the ground for ease of use
of the manual unlock device.
• Use the map to define the position of operator connections
with respect to the centre of rotation of the leaf (Fig.6 and
Table 1).
WARNING -always CHECK installation dimensions
and angles with respect to the construction type of
gate, pillars and hinges.
A and B are the installation values of the rear connection - they
must be as equal as possible to each other to reach uniform
peripheral speeds.
The minimum value of A is 70mm.
The minimum value of B is 120mm.
They are essential to determine:
- the operator useful stroke (C)
- the peripheral speed of the leaf
- the maximum opening angle of the leaf (α)
Y: distance from pillar edge to gate hinge axis.
E: distance from front connection pivot to gate hinge axis.

Table 1 provides reference data, therefore not mandatory.
Always check installation dimensions and angles with respect to the
construction type of gate, pillar and hinges.
IMPORTANT If the distance between the corner of the pillar and the
centre of rotation of the leaf exceeds Y max. value indicated in the
table, or when the leaf is anchored to a continuous wall, it is necessary
to create a recess to house the operator (see par.2.4).
NOTE for version with mechanical limit switches the stroke reduces by
16mm with one limit switch and by 32mm with two limit switches.

NOTE: The sum of A+B = useful stroke (C) to obtain α = 90°. To exceed
this value, after having detected values A and B optimal for installation,
reduce B or increase A enough to reach the desired opening angle,
paying attention to Y to avoid interferences between operator and pillar.
