Placement options

The BeoVision 5 can be placed in several ways,
some are illustrated to the right. Please
contact a Bang & Olufsen retailer for further
information.
Avoid placing your BeoVision 5 in direct sunlight
or direct artificial light (e.g. a spotlight), as this
may reduce the sensitivity of the remote control
receiver. Do not place any items on top of the
BeoVision 5.

Aerial and mains connection

Using an aerial cable, connect your external
aerial (or a cable TV network) to the socket
marked VHF/UHF on the BeoVision 5 rear
socket panel.
If you are going to connect speakers, an audio
system or any other equipment to BeoVision 5, do
not switch on at the mains yet!
Warning!
The BeoVision 5 is equipped with a grounded
mains lead and 3-pin plug. Due to the danger of
electric chock it is advised not to remove the
ground pin of the mains plug. This plug can only
be connected to a grounded wall outlet. If a
grounded wall outlet is not available, an electrician
should be contacted.

When connections are complete...

...you can connect BeoVision 5 to the mains. A
tiny, red light appears on top of the screen. The
system is in standby mode and ready to be used. If
your BeoVision 5 is set up on its own, you can
now begin tuning in channels, as explained in Find
available channels on page 30.
