To save a lead impedance measurement, select the impedance button. You can update a lead
impedance measurement for each channel as many times as desired. Up to five measurements
for each channel are saved and can be included in the PSA report. Once five measurements for a
single channel are saved, the next measurement retrieved for that channel replaces the oldest
saved measurement for that channel.
NOTE: To obtain the most accurate lead impedance measurement, ensure that the Pulse
Amplitude is set to a minimum of 2.0 V.

Capture Test

From the Capture Test window you can Perform a Capture Test for each channel as many times
as desired. The Merlin™ PSA saves up to five measurements, which are included in the PSA
report. Once five measurements for a single channel are saved, the next measurement retrieved
for that channel replaces the oldest saved measurement for that channel.
You can adjust the following parameters:
Pulse Amplitude
Mode
Base Rate
Pulse Width
AV Delay
You can also:
Select the See Additional Parameters button to open the Additional Parameters window and
adjust any of the parameters associated with a capture test.
Perform a Phrenic Nerve Stimulation Check.
Review the saved thresholds.

Perform a Capture Test
To perform a Capture Test:
1.
Enable Pacing for the desired channel.
2.
Check the Rhythm Display to ensure that you have capture.
3.
Select the Run Test button.
The Capture Test window opens, showing the current Pulse Amplitude setting, the pulse
current measurement, and settings for additional parameters.
4.
Select the Pulse Amplitude and other parameter settings for the test. To adjust any
additional parameter settings, select the Additional Parameters (page 20) button.
To adjust the Pulse Amplitude, use one of the following methods:
Select a toggle button to select a specific setting shown on the button.

Select the + and - buttons to increase or decrease the pulse amplitude step by step.

Select the Pulse Amplitude button listing the current setting to open a window showing

all available settings.
