3. Shaking bottle or can to equilibrium
Shake the bottle or can several times (about 3 times) before placing it in the ICC-2000. When
the bottle or can is held upside down, the headspace will move through the liquid, aiding in
measurement.
4. Piercing the bottle or can.
Method:
1. Close the needle valve (pos. 13).
2. Push the Temperature probe with care down until the probe reaches the crown cork.
This is done to reduce the headspace.
3. Move the handle (pos. 45) forwards in one movement. The bottle or can will now be
pierced.
Piercing Big bottles or cans
Method:
1. Dismantle the brace under the temperaturesensorguiding
2. Dismantle the first guiding
3. Assemble the screws in the temperaturesensorguiding to make a stop for the
guiding.
It is now possible to measure bigger bottles or cans.
5. Snifting.
Snifting allows the headspace to be expelled by excess pressure in a bottle or can without
dissolved CO
being released. To do so, carry out the following actions:

Quickly open the needle valve (after piercing) until the pressure on the display drops to about
0.5 bar and close the needle valve.

Check glass bottles beforehand for any cracks or breaks. Use
undamaged bottles only. Before the bottle is pierced, it must
be protected using the protective sleeve provided.
