Event Configuration

This section describes how to configure the AXIS 282/AXIS 282A for alarm handling.
Various actions can be configured to run when certain types of events occur.

Action

Event Servers

Event Servers are used for e.g. receiving uploaded image files and/or notification messages.
To set up Event server for your AXIS 282/AXIS 282A, go to Setup > Event Configuration
> Event Servers and enter the required information according to the selected server type.
Server type
Purpose
FTP Server
• receives uploaded images
HTTP Server
• receives notification messages
• receives uploaded images
TCP Server
• receives notification messages

page.
Note:
Pre-trigger and Post-trigger buffers will be lost if the connection to the event server fails.
When the setup is complete, the connection can be tested by clicking the Test button (the
connection test takes approximately 10 seconds).
A set of parameters describing how and when the Video Server is to perform certain actions
- the circumstances that start an event
- the circumstances that start an event
- what occurs when the event runs
AXIS 282/AXIS 282A - Event Configuration
e.g. at a signal from an external device, such as a door
switch or a motion sensor
e.g. at a pre-programmed time
e.g. video images uploaded to an FTP server, email noti-
fication sent, etc.
Information required
• Descriptive name of your choice
• User Name and Password (to FTP server)
• Upload path, e.g. images/
• Port number
• Use passive mode if there is a firewall between the Video Server
and FTP server
• Use temporary file if your FTP server doesn't allow an existing
file to be overwritten by a new file with the same name.
• Descriptive name of your choice
• URL (address)
• User Name and Password (to HTTP server)
• Proxy address/Proxy port (if required)
• Proxy User Name and Password (if required)
• Descriptive name of your choice
• User Name and Password (for TCP server)
• Port number
