8. Stowing the Lightband

8.1 Preparing the Lightband to be Stowed
Step
Verify that the Upper and Lower Rings are attached to adjoining structures

per Section 7.
Inspect the Lightband to verify:

1. It is visually free from damage.
2. All Hinged Leaves are properly latched over the Retaining Ring.
3. The Leaf Retaining Cord is seated in the groove of every Hinged Leaf.
See Figure 8-1 for proper orientation.

Step
Verify the Sliding Tube can move fully radially inward such that it contacts the

Motor Bracket deploy hard stops. This is required for the Lightband to be
compressed. See Figure 8-2. If it cannot, go to Section 12.
