Recommended periods for hedge trimming
• Leaved hedges: June and October.
• Fir hedges: April and August.
• Conifer hedges and other fast-growing hedges: from May, approximately every six weeks.
• Young hedges should be cut more often to make them denser.
How much the hedges need cutting after this will depend on how much they grow.
• When the new shoots are approximately 15 cm long, you should cut them down to 2 cm.
If you prune the young shoots the denser the hedge will become.
• When the hedge is approximately 1 metre high, it should be cut into a trapezoid shape (narrower
towards the top). That way the lower parts also get enough light, and the hedge will be dense all
the way down to the ground.
• If the hedge is 1 metre high, the top should be 20 cm narrower than the base (10 cm narrower
on each side).
MAINTENANCE
N.B.: Only use original spare parts for maintenance. It could be dangerous to use other parts, and
furthermore you risk damaging the equipment.
WARNING!
Turn off the motor, wait until all moving parts have completely stopped and disconnect
from the power before you investigate, clean or carry out any maintenance work on the equipment.
If you do not follow the instructions this could lead to material damage, serious personal injury and, in
the worst case scenario, death.
General maintenance
• Do not use solvents to clean parts made of plastic. Most plastic parts are sensitive to solvents
and can therefore be damaged. Use a clean cloth to remove dirt, dust, oil, lubricant and similar
substances.
• Regularly check that all screws are tightened. The screws could in theory come loose due to the
vibrations created when the equipment is used.
• Inside the equipment there are several parts which you can maintain yourself. Do not carry out
any maintenance work which is not described in these operating instructions. We cannot take
any responsibility for accidents or injury which occur as a result of unauthorised attempts at
repair, improper use and misuse of the equipment.
• Damaged cutting units must be repaired or replaced by qualified service technicians before the
power tool may be used again.
