Configuring the Tester

Dialling

When Off-Hook, dialling can be accomplished at any time by pressing any
numeric keys including [*] & [#] from the keypad. As the DTMF digit is dialled, it
is displayed on the LCD in a message box, and is also saved in the Redial
buffer. The DTMF digit is also automatically output on the LT51 speaker to give
an audible confirmation that it has been dialled. Only the first 16 digits dialled
while Off-Hook, are saved.

Redial

Press the [f1] key to automatically go Off-Hook and dial the digits stored in the
Redial buffer. To view the contents of the Redial Buffer on the LCD, press the
[f2] key.

Speaker-Phone

The Hands-free Speaker-Phone becomes active (indicated by "Tx: Talk" in the
TxStatus bar) when the Line Status changes to Off-Hook, or a DTMF digit has
been pressed. It remains active until the Transmitter Source is set to SINE ("Tx:
SINE") .
This feature is useful to test the voice quality of the line under test or to
communicate to another technician at the other end of the line before making a
measurement. The LT51 input level range is fixed during "Talk" mode. Press
and/or turn the knob to adjust the volume of the receiver.
To reactivate the Speaker-Phone after testing, press any DTMF digit while still
Off-Hook.
