Operation
5.1
Switching On and Off
Switch the BEA 950 with the "Premium" trolley on and
off using the central on/off switch on the front of unit
(see fig. 1, item 10).
Switch the BEA 950 with the "Medium" trolley on or
off with the central on/off switch on the rear of the
unit (see fig. 4; item 6).

Before switching off the device, shut down the
computer using the Windows operating system.
Leave the computer switched off for at least
60 seconds before switching on again.

When operating the BEA 950, malfunctions can
occur if the computer or other components (e.g.
connecting cables) being used were not supplied
by Bosch.
5.2
SystemSoft BEA-PC
i
The current version of SystemSoft BEA-PC is
included in the scope of delivery as a DVD.
Installation is described in the enclosed operating
instructions for BEA 055 and BEA 070.
5.3
Operating the BEA-PC software
The BEA-PC software is operated using the computer
keyboard, USB mouse or remote control.

Please note that the channel setting must always
be selected before operating the remote control.
This procedure is described in the enclosed
operating instructions.

Operation

Only carry BEA 070 in an upright position. If the
BEA 070 is tilted during transportation, condensate
may escape and damage the measurement
chamber.
!
At an ambient temperature of >35 °C, no more than
20 pages can be printed in a one hour period.

Maintenance
6.1
Cleaning
6.1.1
BEA 950
Only clean trolley and housing with soft workshop
rags and neutral cleaning agents. Do not use abrasive
cleaning agents and coarse workshop rags.
6.1.2
Data storage device
Clean DVD with a cleaning kit or wipe the silver side of
the data storage device carefully with a soft, lint-free
cotton cloth. Never use paper towels as these could
cause scratches.
6.1.3
DVD drive
Clean the DVD drive regularly with a cleaning
data carrier for the DVD drive. The appropriate
cleaning disks are available from most computer or
entertainment electronics shops.
6.2
Calibration
For applications demanding mandatory calibration,
regular calibration is essential. (depending on the
regulations of the respective country).
6.3
Maintenance and
maintenance intervals

Routine maintenance ensures that the system is
always ready to use at all times. Maintenance can
be performed by a maintenance service contractor
or by qualified personnel of the analyzer's owner;
the maintenance must be documented and must be
indicated on the measuring instrument.
For maintenance instructions, refer to the operating
instructions for BEA 055 and BEA 070 included in the
scope of delivery.
