Chapter 3 - Installing
Earlier workstation platforms installed in Z/EZ-consoles used a cable management
bracket, P/N 51405057-100, that are installed under the auxiliary power supply
compartment of the Z/EZ-console base structure. This cable management bracket is
NOT used when installing Dell Precision T5810XL workstation in Z/EZ-consoles.
Instead, cables are held in position by four (4) ribbon cable clamps, P/N 51103230-203,
adhered to the inside surface of the left and right module mounting bracket.
4. Place the workstation on the mounting rails. The following illustrates a Dell T5810XL-based
workstation installed in the Z-console module mounting brackets. You can slide the workstation
chassis in place between the four (4) ribbon cable clamps. The four cable clamps act to restrain the
workstation from the sideward movement.
5. Slide the workstation into the furniture bay until the distance between the rear edge of the
workstation and the vertical return flange on the rear cover retaining bracket is approximately 127
mm [5"].
The following image illustrates the two retaining brackets, P/N 51405059-100, installed to position
the rear surface of the workstation. The workstation is positioned 127 mm [5 inches] in front of the
return flange on the rear mounting bracket, P/N 51403674-100.
