Installation

The various ways of installing the magnetic switch set make it easy to find the
optimal solution for the installation site in question. They are suitable for both
surface mounting and flush mounting.
Spacer blocks are supplied in order to guarantee magnetic decoupling from
ferromagnetic materials when the switch set is surface-mounted.
Make sure that the magnetic switch and the magnets are mounted parallel to
each other, at the same height.
The distance between the magnetic switch and the magnets must not exceed
13 mm.
When selecting an installation site, make sure that the magnetic switches and
the magnets can be mounted where they will operate safely and where there
is no risk of trailing cables posing a hazard.
Check the conditions at the installation site before mounting.

Surface mounting
• Hold the lower parts of the magnetic switch housing and the magnets at
the installation site and establish the best position in which to install them.
• Use the lower parts of the housing as a template and mark the points to be
drilled through the mounting holes on the housing.
• Bore holes of the required depth into the mounting surface at the points
you have marked.
• Screw in the lower parts of the housing at the holes.
The magnetic switch is attached to the lower part of the housing which is
mounted on the window or door frame. The magnet is attached to the lower
part of the housing which is mounted on the window sash or the door. The
upper parts of the housing are installed last. There is an opening for the cable
on the upper part of the housing. The opening is closed on delivery, push
through to open. When mounting on a magnetically conductive surface, use
anti-magnetic screws and the spacer blocks provided.
Flush mounting
When flush mounting, the upper and lower parts of the housing for the
magnetic switch and the magnet are not used. Holes of diameter 8mm
(+0.2mm) must be bored for the magnetic switch and the magnet. It must be
possible to insert the magnetic switch into the bore hole easily, but at the
same time it must sit tightly enough that it cannot be removed again by hand.
To prevent damage, do not use force when mounting the magnetic switch.
The magnetic switch and magnet may not be mounted into ferromagnetic
materials or materials with a ferromagnetic core.
Functional test
Always observe the safety instructions!
Connecting an exhaust unit
• Mount the magnetic switch set as described in the chapter on installation.
• Before commissioning, check that the voltage specified on the nameplate
is the same as the mains voltage.
• Insert the plug component of the exhaust system safety switch into a
socket with earthing contact which has been installed in conformance with
statutory regulations.
