Removing the Rewind Starter
Take out the screws (10).

Lift away the rewind starter.
N
5.3
Disassembling the Rewind Starter
Warning! Spring is under tension. Risk of serious eye and
face injuries. Wear a face shield and work gloves.
The spring will not be under tension if either the starter
rope or rewind spring is broken.
Pull out the rope (3) with the starter grip (1) about 20
N
cm and hold the rope rotor (5) steady.

Engage the rope (3) in the notch (arrow) in the rotor

and make a loop in the rope.
Use the rope to turn the rotor (5) clockwise until spring
N
tension is relieved.
Take out the screw (8) and remove it along with
N
washer (7) and pawl (6).
Remove the rope rotor (5).
N
Remove the broken/worn starter rope (3) from the
N
rope rotor (4).
Remove the rewind spring (4).

Replacing the Rope Guide Bushing
Remove the worn rope bushing (2) from the fan

housing (9).
