CONTROL, ACKNOWLEDGE, SHUNT LEVELS

When icons have Control, Acknowledge, and Shunt Levels
defined by the icon setup program, the icons may not operate
as expected. Operators also may have Control, Acknowledge,
and Shunt Levels assigned by the Operators setup program.
The levels are set to 0 - 15, with 15 being the highest level.
The operator must have a level which is equal to or higher than
the level assigned to an icon in order to activate that icon.
Examples:
If a door to the president's office is assigned a control level
of 15 and the operator's control level is only a 3, he cannot
open that door! There are no control levels for cameras, but
there are for doors, gates, lights, and user icons.
An alarm may be defined with a shunt level of 10, so a level
5 operator cannot shunt it. (It can also be defined as not
shuntable at all.)
An alarm may be defined with an acknowledge level of 15.
To acknowledge that alarm, an operator must have an
acknowledge level of 15. Therefore, some alarms may
require a supervisor to acknowledge.

SWITCHER ERROR MESSAGES

If any icon action sends auxiliary function or camera switching
commands to a switcher (such as calling a camera to a
monitor), that switcher must be connected, properly set up, and
operating for the requested action to take place. If this is not
the case, a switcher error message is displayed, illustrated
below.

EXITING EXCALIBUR

The Exit function in the Excalibur window menu bar allows
the operator to close the Excalibur program. The operator
must be logged in and have Supervisor privilege to select Exit
and close Excalibur. If not, an Operator Message is displayed,
as illustrated below, and the program does not close.
If any defined switcher or alarm module is disconnected from
Excalibur, or other communications failures exist, a
Communications Port Error message, illustrated below, is
displayed during program closing. This message could be
displayed several times, once for each Comm Port that had
been setup for Excalibur.
If any of these messages are displayed, just select OK at each
message to continue the program closing.
The Windows Program Manager can not be closed (to exit
Windows) while Excalibur is running. Windows can be closed
only after exiting from Excalibur.
