EXCALIBUR
User Icons
The User icon can be defined as different types of actions. It
can be used to call up a camera to a monitor (which is by
default what all the icons do in this system). It can be used to
control auxiliary electrical equipment such as lights, sirens,
machines, etc. It can also be defined to call up another map.
Call Camera/Auxiliary
If the icon is programmed to control auxiliary equipment, or
call a camera, first press the "Control" button at the bottom of
the Excalibur window (page 2-8), then immediately press the
User icon. The icon turns green, indicating that the action is
effective. To turn off the equipment, first press the "Control"
button and then the icon. The icon turns blue, its inactive state.
There is no dialog box for this icon.
If the icon is setup for confirmation by the Icon Setup program,
a confirmation box is displayed when the operator activates or
deactivates the icon. This box asks the operator: "Are you
sure?", as illustrated below.
Select "Yes" to continue, or "No" to cancel the icon action.
Call Map
If the user icon is setup to call up a map, that map is displayed
when the icon is selected, as for a Map icon.
VCR, Quad, Phoneline Icons
The VCR, Quad, and Phoneline transmission icons operate
similar to the fixed camera icons. The dialog box for these
icons is the same as a fixed camera dialog box, with no
optional pan/tilt, lens, or auxiliary functions, as illustrated
below. This allows the operator to view the output of a VCR,
Quad, or Phoneline video transmission display on a monitor.
When finished viewing the video, press "Run" or "Hold" in the
dialog box to exit. To exit and resume a tour sequence when
finished viewing the video, press the "Run" button in the
dialog box. To exit the dialog box, but hold the video on the
selected monitor, press "Hold" or select another icon. The
icon of a VCR, Quad, or Phoneline on hold stays green.
Note: Direct RS-232 control of these units, such as selecting
the cameras for the Quad display, is provided by separate
software modules. Contact AD for further information on
optional RS-232 control modules for Excalibur.
Map Icons
Select the desired Map icon to switch immediately to another
map image. There is no dialog box for this icon.
Light Icons
The Light icon allows the operator to turn on or turn off lights
at the area under surveillance. This icon also calls a camera to
a monitor, if these are defined by the icon setup function.
To turn on the light (and call up the camera and monitor
specified), press the icon when it is gray. The icon turns green,
indicating that the light is on. To turn off the light, press the
icon when it is green. The icon turns gray, indicating that the
light is off. There is no dialog box for this icon.
