Installing the Battery Pack
The xSt ack St orage Array accommodat es a shrink-wrapped bat t ery pack. Because writ e-back
caching is always enabled, we recommend you have a bat t ery t o back up t he buf f er cache
cont ent s.
The bat t ery pack connect s t o t he DSN-1100 cont roller board using a 3-pin locking connect or at
J11 (see Figure A-3 f or det ailed drawing of it s locat ion). The bat t ery it self is at t ached t o t he
chassis by means of t wo 3M Dual Lock re-closable f ast ener st rips, which allow easy f ield
replacement of t he pack, if required.
