  • Page 2: Wing Assembly

Wing Assembly 1) Wing control hardware and wing tube. 2) Cut covering at servo mounts. 3) Install aileron servo, secure with screws. Depending on your servo you may need short extension leads to reach your receiver.
  • Page 3 4) Check to make sure the pre-fitted “CA Style” hinges are centered on the centerline. Then glue the hinge with thin CA glue. After the glue cures, flex the control surface a few times to make sure it moves freely. 5) Install aileron horn, secure with included screw.
  • Page 4: Tail Assembly

Tail Assembly 1) Tail control hardware, tailwheel, and elevator joiner. 2) Insert horizontal stabilizer to fuselage. Center it, then draw a line noting its position. Using a sharp hobby knife remove the covering for vertical fin and horizontal stabilizer. Do not cut balsa underneath. 2a) The areas shown where covering was removed will provide a good wood to wood joint when gluing tail parts to fuselage.
  • Page 5 3) To install the elevator joiner, a small channel needs to be cut on each elevator half to accept the wire. 4) Drill a 2mm hole to install the elevator linkage rod. Try to keep the hole perpendicular to the hinge line and centered on the control surface.
  • Page 6 6) Insert elevator to fuselage before installing horizontal stabilizer. 7) Insert stabilizer to fuselage, centering it on the area where the covering was previously removed. Glue the stabilizer in place with thick CA or epoxy. 8) Glue hinges with thin CA glue. Flex control surface several times to check for proper movement.

  • Page 8 12) Glue the vertical fin with CA glue or epoxy 13) Bend the tail wheel steel wire after inserting it through the plastic bracket. There should be about 15mm of wire after the bend. Cut off remainging wire. 14) Cut a small channel in the rudder to allow the tail wheel wire to sit even with the hinge line when installed.
  • Page 9 15) Drill a 2mm hole to accept the tail wheel wire. Drill it centered on the control surface so tail wheel is straight, relative to the rudder. 16) Insert rudder and hinges to fuselage. Glue rudder hinges with thin CA glue. Flex several times to ensure free movement of the control surface.
  • Page 10 18) Install rudder servo, secure with screws 19) Feed rudder cables through the fuselage. Loop cable through threaded end, and secure with aluminum crimp. Repeat for both sides. For best control, control cables should cross the fuselage. So, cable on right side of servo, should exit left side of fuselage.

    21) Center rudder servo, and rudder. Pull cables tight. Take cable, loop through threaded ends, and pull cables to remove all slack. The final adjustment can be made by tightening the clevis on the threaded cable end. Landing Gear Assembly 1) Main Landing Gear parts 2) Glue wheelpant mount to wheel pant with thick CA or rubberized CA glue.
  • Page 12 3) Following the plywood mount as a guide, cut a small slot in each wheelpant for the axle to clear. 4) Secure wheel to landing gear with wheel collars on the inside and outside of the wheel, secure with set screw. 5) Insert wheel into wheel pant.

    6) Install main landing gear to fuselage with screws. Secure screws with thread lock. 7) Secure wheel pants to landing gear with supplied screws. Cowl Installation 1) Cowling/Motor Mount box.
  • Page 14 2) Glue motor mount with thick CA glue or epoxy. 3) Using paper tabs taped to the fuselage. Mark the location of the cowl mounting blocks. 4) Place cowl on fuselage in desired position. Drill holes at the mounting block locations marked on the paper tabs.
